A man from some backwater part of Solitude joined 13. His translation router was faulty and he had a real hard on for mindflood. We were trying to get him to fly logistics for us, and were struggling through the language barrier and the drugs to get him down the right chain.
Long story short he ended up taking a wrong turn, got killed by some other J-Space dwellers we weren't expecting and took a long freeze. I hear they finally managed to get a working brain scan of his again about a year later. It was hilarious.
Why do you choose to fly with the people you do currently?

Reading. When you worked with **** (both metaphorical and literal) for a living as your first job, you tend to need to find an escape. A roof and bed wasn't free with my family, you earned your keep even as a teenager. My escape was my mother's collection of old dog eared paper books from Amarr. History, fiction, biographies, I read them all and it put me in good stead to qualify for the School of Applied Knowledge. I still have a lot of them on my bookshelf back on Sarum Prime.
Would you rather know what the future holds, or be able to see everything that happened before?

The EVE Gate. To think an overly radioactive hunk of old metal glowing brightly in some backwater Lowsec system has generated such a huge amount of speculation.
Did we come through it? Is heaven on the other side? Was it built by Mankind or something else? Or is it the remains of something that isn't even 'gate like'? Who knows. It's still a nice system to fly to and meditate in, as it's usually an empty system most times of the day I'm active.

Tough one. I was raised in the State, and a lot of my work ethic (along with knowledge of hosting and tea preperation) comes from that time. I suppose my economic liberalism as well.
That said, I was given as good of an eduction in the Amarr faith as my mother could provide, and I am currently a baptised member of the Orthodox Church (and therefore citizen of the Amarr Empire)
It's a weird blend of the two, though the State and her people most likely would conclude I am not one of them due to my choices. It's a fair and legitimate point, but having lived in the Empire proper for long enough I've concluded I'm not all together a perfect fit there either. Perhaps the problem was I was living with a Sarumite as their ill begotten grandson.
If I find another place within the Empire (given its large variations in culture internally) or elsewhere I'll let you know.
To go back to an earlier answer of mine, what do you think the origin of Man is? Did we come from the Evegate? Did we spring up seperately on our individual planets? Do you think ancient aliens created us?

If these are the ships I think you're talking about, they're old. Exceptionally old if radio carbon dating can be relied upon (which given the good chance of exposure to all kinds of radiation means it can't)
However old they are, their design is certainly unique, possibly early Jove or even pre-Jove and relates to a very early space capable civilisation. The Providence Institute has been conducting some research on them to see if they might or might not be related to the origin civilisation of Scripture, but no conclusions can be drawn yet.
What was the biggest game changing discovery you have made in your life? Such as first seeing a certain system, or flying a certain ship, or an encounter that really changed your outlook on life, the future or other.
